Overview of Core Privacy Commitments
NoSmokingChallenge.com operates on a privacy-by-design model. The digital simulation requires access to your video camera solely to detect hand gestures and calculate facial proximity in real time. We do not record, store, transmit, or monetize your video frames, biometric features, or personal imagery.
1. Camera Feed Processing & Volatile Memory
When you activate the simulation by granting camera permission, video frames captured by your web camera or device sensor are processed locally in volatile memory (RAM) via client-side computer vision routines. The application evaluates geometric landmarks (e.g., coordinates of fingertip joints and mouth position) on a frame-by-frame basis.
Camera frames are processed locally for the interaction and are not intentionally uploaded or stored by the application. Video streams are analyzed instantaneously in RAM and discarded immediately after coordinate extraction.
2. Browser Local Storage & Session State
The platform utilizes standard client-side browser storage (such as localStorage) solely to persist functional interface preferences across page reloads:
- Theme Preference (no_smoking_theme): Remembers your selected theme preference (light or dark mode). No personal identifiers or biometric coordinates are written to persistent storage.
3. Network Requests & Third-Party Dependencies
The simulation functions without requiring user registration, accounts, or profile creation. Google Fonts are loaded via standard CDN links to render typography. No tracking pixels, marketing cookies, or biometric profiling beacons are deployed.
4. Device Controls & Permission Management
You maintain full control over camera access. You can revoke camera permission at any moment via your browser's site permission settings or by closing the browser tab.
